The differences between Tozo and social assistance benefits:
– Tozo does not check equity. In the case of social assistance benefits, the amount of your savings (max € 6255) and your assets (such as a car or a house) will be examined.
– Tozo is a gift and you do not have to pay it back. If it turns out during an inspection that you were not entitled to social assistance benefits, you must repay it.

The similarities between Tozo and social assistance benefits:
-For a single person, the amount of both options is € 999,70 p.m.
-Both will take effect retroactively from the 1st of March 2020.
-You must be in the Netherlands to be able to claim Tozo or social assistance benefits.

General advice from P&G292:
If you have a Chamber of Commerce registration and you are not directly in financial distress, apply for the Tozo option. Even if you have a partner or your partner is also self-employed, it is wiser to apply for the Tozo option. If you have applied for social assistance benefits and you have not provided complete information about your living situation, your family composition or your possessions, you may have to repay the social assistance benefits. Ultimately, the municipality of Amsterdam will verify your data with that of the tax authorities.

If you want to apply for social assistance benefits, you must provide the following documents by sending it to info@pg292.nl:
